Confirmation Class:  Planning has begun for the next confirmation class, which will begin in September. Here at Gwynedd Square, confirmation is open to children who will be in 7th grade and higher this fall, and is held every other year. More information will be mailed in August to those students we have on the rolls who will be in 7th or 8th grade next year. If you have a child who will be in a higher grade and is interested in being confirmed, please let Cathy Stevenson (confirmation coordinator) know ASAP so you will be in the loop. Parents, please start to talk to your child about confirmation. If you want or need more information now about confirmation, feel free to contact Cathy (CLCALDWELL@AOL.COM or 215-513-0902) or Pastor Marie.

Mission Interpretation Committee Toms River Mission Trip will be June 8.  We will meet at the church at 7:30 a.m. and drive to Toms River area to aid families whose homes were damaged by storm Sandy.  Please eat breakfast or bring it with you to eat on the drive.  Also bring your lunch, beverages, work gloves, and any tools or equipment that you will use.  Wear old clothes in layers and heavy shoes/boots.  We will work until 3 p.m. and then head home.  Contact Ken Weber to let him know you are coming or if you have questions.  No previous experience is required!

Presbyterian Women Birthday Offering: Yellow envelopes are in the pew racks for this mission opportunity and you can return your envelope through June 2 by putting in the offering plate, mailing to the church office, or given to a women’s circle leader. Please read the April Spire to learn about the mission needing our support. Suggested giving is 10 cents for each year you have lived. Everyone is invited to participate. Last year we gave $900 as a church. Morning Circle: The next meeting is Tuesday, June 11, at 10 a.m. here at the church.  Contact Marjorie Stroup with any questions.  Noontime Circle: The next meeting is Thursday, 13, at noon in the fellowship hall.  Contact Nancy Barr with any questions.  The Mary and Martha Circle (formerly the Evening Circle): the next meeting is Monday, June 3, at 1 p.m. Contact Diane Butt with any questions.

Property Calling All Cooks: There are plates, baking dishes, pans, etc. left in the kitchen after the Soup Suppers, Easter Breakfast and other such events.  Please check the kitchen for your personal items and take them home.  Lost and Found: There are some nice items in our lost and found box (on top of the coat rack in the narthex), as well as some coats and jackets on coat racks in the narthex and also by the church office.  Please check after the service to claim your possessions.  Inside Clean-up Day:  Do you like things neat and clean?  Do you think a few things around our church could/should be cleaner?  Do you know it is the responsibility of all of us to take care of the Lord's House?  Yes, we have a cleaning service for a minimal amount of time each week.  Many routine tasks are completed, but there are many other tasks that don't get touched on a weekly basis.  This is where YOU can help.  We need people to come and help dust books in the library, clean classrooms upstairs, get those pesky marks off of walls, de-clutter, clean more thoroughly in sanctuary, clean windows.  These are just a few tasks that we'd like to tackle.  Could you help with any of these tasks for just a few hours one day?  We'll be having 2 times to do as much as we can: Wednesday, May 29, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Thursday, May 30, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.  Sign up on the sheet by the water fountain.  If you can't make either of these times, please indicate that on this sheet as well.  If you have some cleaning tools such as a canister vacuum, dust cloths, etc. please bring them. Please park in the upper parking lot at the sanctuary entrance. If you have any questions, please contact Cathy Stevenson.

Stewardship Extra-Giving Sunday:  Sunday, June 2, will be another Extra-Giving Sunday.  Each Extra-Giving Sunday provides an opportunity for each of us to stretch our giving.  If you normally give $5, can you give $10 this week?  Do you have an extra $20 in your wallet to put towards God’s work in the world?

Worship Making a Joyful Noise at Gwynedd Square!  Join us at 4 p.m.

today for a concert of inspirational choral music presented by the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts Touring Choir.  Conducted by our new director of music, David Macbeth, this 35-voice internationally ranked high school choral ensemble brings a mix of exciting literature and passionate music making!  A free-will offering will be taken in support of the choir's 2013 Boston performance tour.  Please contact Dave at 610-742-3611 or voxdeidave@gmail.com with any questions.  Organ Speaker Fabric: The session voted on Tuesday night to approve asking for a special offering to raise funds to repair the tear in the fabric covering the organ pipes on the chancel.  After some research, it has been determined that the costs to facilitate this repair would be approximately $1500.00.  The repair would include replacing all the fabric on both sides of the pipes chambers.  This will require removing the wood trim, replacing the fabric and returning the wood to its original place.  The hope is to finish the repair over the summer so that it is completed for the fall music season.  If you would like to contribute to this fund, envelopes will be placed in the pews for your convenience.
